A Tipple Fit for a King

A Tipple Fit for a King

A new special edition gin has launched at John Lewis stores and online to mark the forthcoming Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Camilla, Queen Consort on the 6 May 2023.

Created in collaboration with Gin In A Tin and as part of Historic Royal Palaces’ brand licensing programme with its agent The Point.1888, ‘The Coronation Gin’ design is inspired by the Crown Jewels, housed at the Tower of London.

With distinctive notes of lemon peel, coriander, cardamom and Juniper it has been created as the ultimate royal tipple. This London Dry gin is presented in their signature lightweight letterbox-friendly tins (perfect for posting), and is adorned with a magnificent gold foiled crown, featuring the iconic symbols of the four nations of the United Kingdom: a classic English rose, a traditional Scottish thistle, a springtime Welsh daffodil and the delicate Irish shamrock.

Rosanna Cousins, Senior Retail and Commercial Manager at The Point.1888 said, “We couldn’t be happier to give the nation a truly special way to commemorate the Coronation. Working with Historic Royal Palaces and Gin In a Tin has been an absolute pleasure and John Lewis is the perfect retail partner.”

Emma Saunders, Senior Licensing Manager at Historic Royal Palaces said, “We are delighted to be working in collaboration with Gin In A Tin, who have created a classic product to mark such a magnificent event this year. We plan to develop further collections in partnership with Gin In A Tin, whose inspiration can be taken from the most wonderful palaces in the world.”

Charlotte & Martin, Founders of Gin In A Tin said: “It has been a privilege to work with Historic Royal Palaces on such a prestigious project. Our mission is all about combining great taste with innovate packaging – what could be more special than sipping ‘The Coronation Gin’ whilst watching history being made?”

‘The Coronation Gin’ is available at John Lewis & Partners and on Gin In A Tin’s website.
