Women in Toys, Licensing & Entertainment Announces New 2024 WiT Foundation Scholarship

Building on the success of its long-standing scholarship program, Women in Toys, Licensing & Entertainment (WiT) continues to develop women leaders with the launch of the new 2024 WiT Foundation Scholarship, an application-based scholarship open to female students.

The revamped 2024 program is designed to reach more women than ever before. It will support students who are pursuing undergraduate degrees in industry-related fields. The scholarship includes a financial award of $5,000, a one-year WiT membership, career-focused programming, enrollment in WiT’s Ruth Handler Mentorship Program, access to internship and job postings, and more. Award recipients will also be invited to attend WiT’s Wonder Women Awards Gala in Los Angeles on September 13, 2024, where they will be recognized alongside industry professionals.

“This program advances WiT’s commitment to foster an industry culture where every woman can thrive.” says Angelina Castro and Kristin Lecour, WiT Scholarship Co-Chairs. “Our goal is to develop female leaders and build a more robust pipeline of professionals in consumer products. By providing financial support, career development, industry education and professional mentorship to these students, we will inspire a more inclusive and equitable community.”

WiT is now accepting applications for the scholarship, with a deadline to apply by June 17, 2024. To be considered, applicants must identify as women, live in the United States or Canada, be full-time undergraduate students at an accredited college or university with a minimum 3.0 GPA, have interest in a career in the consumer products, toys, licensing and entertainment industries, and pursue a degree in fields including: Business Management, Design, Engineering, Computer Science, E-Commerce, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Law, Creative Arts and other industry-related programs. Awards will be granted in August 2024 and will be based on a student’s merit and leadership.

The scholarship is funded by donations made to The WiT Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) corporation that is committed to advancing and advocating for women who work in, or seek to work in the toy, consumer products, licensing, and entertainment industries.
