Point.1888 to drive Licensing for Spin Master’s Unicorn Academy
Spin Master has appointed The Point.1888 as the UK brand licensing agent for its newest franchise, Unicorn Academy.
Coming just weeks after Spin Master revealed plans to bring the much-loved book series to life with a global Netflix animated series, toy line, digital game and expansive consumer products program, Spin Master aligns with The Point.1888 to create a range of products that captures the spirit and magic of Unicorn Academy for fans both old and new.
Unicorn Academy is the boarding school of every kid’s dreams. Located on Unicorn Island™, Sophia and the rest of the freshman class must bond with a unicorn to unlock their magical powers; only then can they learn to become revered protectors of the island and its magic – all while balancing classwork and navigating new friendships. The series is adapted from The New York Times bestselling books originated and published by Nosy Crow, written by Julie Sykes.
Its “biggest production to date”, Unicorn Academy marks yet another milestone in Spin Master’s mission to create magical experiences for children through toys, entertainment and digtial games. To manage the consumer products brand strategy and product roll out, The Point.1888 was the clear choice for the UK, having run hugely successful consumer products campaigns for children’s entertainment brands L.O.L. Surprise, CoComelon, Blippi, Moomin, and Tom Gates.
Key to The Point.1888’s approach is ensuring every programme provides deep and long-lasting brand-affiliation by following the rules of relevance, a sense of belonging, and desire. Not only that, but as a pioneer of retail-led brand licensing, The Point.1888 creates new products that will fill an existing gap at retail. This means it consistently delivers a higher chance of retailer buy-in and a better sales performance for its clients.
For Unicorn Academy, The Point.1888’s strategy & product development is already underway with partners being sought across apparel, accessories, stationery, footwear, FMCG and more.

Unicorn Academy launches globally on Netflix in November 2023 and a full range of Spin Master toys are planned for late Summer 2024.
