Point.1888 Parent Company Announces Group Board

The Point.1888’s parent company True Purpose Enterprises, which also holds retail specialist Spotlight.1888 and marketing agency Story.1888 in its portfolio, has created a group board today, promoting a number of its senior staff.

Joining True Purpose Enterprises’ CEO, Will Stewart, and CCO, Bethan Garton, on the Group Board, are Hannah Redler as newly appointed Group Retail DirectorSarah Crimes in her new role as Group Marketing DirectorMartin McLaughlin asGroup Creative Director; and Matt Earle as Group Finance Director.

The Group Board has been created to manage the significant growth that each of the True Purpose Enterprises businesses has experienced, and will ensure that greater focus is applied to maintain this success and plan for the future.

Story.1888 was founded in August 2020 by Will, Sarah and Martin to maximise the impact of The Point.1888 clients’ brand licensing efforts. Providing creative services such as product branding and style guides; product marketing; strategy; content creation and campaign management, the business now also counts businesses not represented by The Point.1888 as clients, such as Comic Relief and Marks and Spencer owned brand Percy Pig.

Spotlight.1888 was created in November 2021 to help brands and licensees with retail services, and retailers with licensing strategy. Based on an extension of The Point.1888’s market leading retail-first model, whereby new products are created based on the gaps seen at retail as well as what it thinks the brand’s target demographic might like, Spotlight.1888 works directly with retailers and brands to help them fill the gaps themselves using the agency’s Retail team expertise.

As the co-founder of Spotlight.1888 and in her new role as Group Retail Director, Hannah Redler and her team deliver retail insight and strategy to retailers, manufactures and brands.

The Point.1888 will celebrate its eighth anniversary later this year with a host of new clients, product launches, and partnerships with licensees and agents all over the world.

Completing the board as Group Finance Director to oversee the financial operations of True Purpose Enterprises’ three businesses, as well as support the Group’s next phase of growth, is Matt Earle. He brings with him a wealth of experience in the media and publishing industries, having previously worked at Conde Nast, Channel 4 and Acamar Films.

Commenting on the creation of the Group Board, True Purpose Enterprises’ CEO, Will Stewart, said, “The route to success in retail and brand licensing has transformed almost unrecognisably since we launched retail first brand extension in 2015. Retailers, licensees and brand owners need new and different ways to activate licensed brands at retail, and sales cannot be generated without specialist marketing support built on talent, grit and strategic thinking. That is why we took the decision three years ago to create Spotlight.1888 and Story.1888, with True Purpose Enterprises as the parent company.

“Each business we have launched has reached key growth milestones in half the time of the previous business.  As CEO of a group of growing businesses, I need the right leaders and directors in the team to ensure we continue to deliver our exceptional service to our clients. As a sole founder, I am so proud and honoured to have Bethan, Hannah, Sarah, Martin and Matt to help lead the businesses.  This is just the beginning of True Purpose Enterprises, watch this space.”

Bethan Garton, True Purpose Enterprises’ CCO, said, “Having grown The Point.1888 alongside Will for the last five and a half years, it’s remarkable to see how far we’ve come.  The new businesses we have launched have been in response to the market needs, our reputation, and recommendations from across the industry and we are so excited to see what the next few years holds.”
