An episode from the popular Japanese preschooler educational TV series, Shimajiro: A World of Wow! was been shortlisted in the Preschool Category, Children & Youth Division at the Banff World Media Festival Rockie Awards 2020.

The episode titled Life & Survival – Living Together, Living Creatively was the only nominee from Japan in the Children & Youth Division at the awards, which celebrate the world’s best content across television and digital platforms.

The prestigious Banff World Media Festival Rockie Awards has a 40-year legacy and recognizes excellence in global television and digital content. Entries from more than 45 countries each year are open to all genres including drama, non-fiction, digital, kids and youth. Winners are selected by an international industry jury of 150+ senior entertainment and media professionals. The category winners are usually announced annually at a gala event every June in Banff, Canada but this year, because of the Covid-19 situation, The Rockies Program Competition will stream live on Monday, 15 June.

Shimajiro: A World of Wow! Life & Survival – Living Together, Living Creatively was first broadcast on 22 June 2019 on TV Setouchi on the TV Tokyo national network.
