Guru Studio annouces distribution deal for Big Blue with Warner Bros. Discovery in Latin America.

The 52 x 11 comedy adventure series, which recently launched on Youku in China, will be airing on Warner Bros. Discovery’s Cartoon Network and Max in Latin America starting in Q3. The series is also gearing up for its US premiere on Roku later this year. Big Blue was originally commissioned by CBC Kids in Canada and has been sold to multiple partners including Nickelodeon (UK), ABC Kids (Australia), EBS (South Korea), RTS (Switzerland), RTVE/Clan (Spain), MBC Group (Middle East) and Cartoon Network (Africa).

Big Blue follows sibling underwater adventurers Lettie and Lemo who lead a quirky submarine crew. Along with a magical fairy stowaway named Bacon Berry, together they must explore and protect their vast ocean-covered planet.

The series is produced by Guru Studio the animation powerhouse behind some of the most recognizable and beloved children’s properties including the global smash PAW Patrol, Netflix’s True and the Rainbow Kingdom, Sesame Streets animated spin-off Mecha BuildersMy Magic Pet Morphle for Moonbug Entertainment, and most recently the family mini-series adaptation of the beloved classic Charlottes’ Web for Warner Bros Discovery’s streaming platform Max. The company also recently announced it has acquired the TV rights to Penguin Random House’s best-selling and hugely popular book Where’s Spot? and more than 25 other Spot titles.

Big Blue is created by Ghanaian Canadian Gyimah Gariba, a multi-faceted artist whose work has gained him international attention, and who was praised by Forbes Magazine as one of 15 Young African Creatives Rebranding Africa.
