Beanstalk Partners Step Up to Help Out

Beanstalk partners are stepping up and helping out during this challenging time.

Procter & Gamble has installed new lines to start production of hand sanitizer in five manufacturing sites around the world, including at a plant in Ohio, and P&G also has begun making face masks because of the COVID-19 crisis.

In response to the novel COVID-19 pandemic, Vicks® will donate $1M to Direct Relief, one of the world’s largest medical relief organizations. These funds will go toward equipping front line health workers with protective gear and providing medicines and equipment needed to treat an anticipated spike in ICU patients.

Diageo is pledging more than eight million bottles of hand sanitizer by donating up to two million litres of alcohol to manufacturing partners to help protect frontline healthcare workers in the fight against COVID-19.
Diageo also announced a suite of measures to help support the British drinks trade as it faces unprecedented challenges from the impact of the COVID-19 crisis. On St Patrick’s Day, Guinness pledged £1,000,000 to support bartenders in the free trade across Great Britain. Thousands of bartenders will be able to benefit from the £1,000,000 fund intended for pubs and bars to put towards bartenders’ wages. A similar community fund is being set up in Ireland.

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. licensed partner Radians, Inc. has donated more than 14,000 N95 respirator masks to Memphis and Shelby County, TN in light of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Ford announced today that it is partnering with 3M in order to manufacture powered air-purifying respirators (PAPRs) as part of its response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Ford is planning to use power tool batteries to operate the respirators. Based on their sketches, they will use something similar to the Dewalt DC9071 12-volt.

Battelle and Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center announced the development of a new rapid, sensitive diagnostic test for COVID-19. Wexner Medical Center will begin using the new test under its existing FDA certification permits. The groups say the new test will increase and improve test processing in Ohio.

Chocolate maker GODIVA has sent chocolate and coffee to hospitals around the world to thank the healthcare community for their efforts battling the pandemic.
