A musical celebration of Gerry Anderson

Anderson Entertainment presents a new production featuring music from one of the most iconic TV catalogues of all time. Series such as Thunderbirds, Space: 1999, Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons and Stingray will all be celebrated in a special one-off concert in Symphony Hall, Birmingham – a B:Music venue – on Saturday 13 July 2024.

Step into the timeless world of Gerry Anderson’s TV shows in a brand-new 2024 celebration as a full orchestra brings iconic theme tunes and music to life. Feel the pulse of Thunderbirds, the mysterious allure of Stingray and the futuristic vibes of Space: 1999. Immerse yourself in a symphonic journey through Anderson’s imaginative universes where each note conjures memories of daring rescues, epic space adventures and puppetry magic.

Following the 2022 sell-out concert, Anderson Entertainment presents a brand-new production with Stand By For Action! 2 Tunes of Danger. The show will feature music from Anderson shows never-before performed by a full live orchestra, alongside many fan favourites from the worlds of Gerry Anderson. And as 2024 is the 60th Anniversary of Stingray, the show will climax with a very special performance which will launch a new transmedia narrative from the world of Stingray to run throughout the year.

Hosted by Jon Culshaw and Genevieve Gaunt, this unique new concert celebrates the enduring legacy of Gerry Anderson’s creations, blending nostalgia with the thrill of live music for a night that will resonate with fans of all ages.

Actor, comedian and impressionist Jon Culshaw provides the voices for characters including Parker and Jeff Tracy; and actor and podcaster Genevieve Gaunt provides the voice of Lady Penelope – all in Anderson Entertainment’s Thunderbirds audio stories.

Jon Culshaw says: ‘I’m over the moon to be co-hosting this stunning event once again, especially with my great friend and partner in rock n’ roll Genevieve Gaunt. We promise to bring all the Parker and Penelope power! The Anderson anthems as performed by the amazing orchestra are incredible to behold and are sure to fill the Symphony Hall and take the roof off.’

This sensational show will transport fans through over 60 years of the Gerry Anderson back catalogue.  Jamie Anderson, son of Gerry Anderson and Director of Anderson Entertainment, says: “I cannot wait for fans to enjoy this brand-new exciting, nostalgia-packed and varied evening of iconic tunes with a full video backdrop. The concert will feature exclusive footage and newly restored colour and high-definition content. This truly is an epic journey not to be missed.

Presented by Anderson Entertainment and Carrot Productions, Stand By For Action! 2 Tunes of Danger will take place at Symphony Hall, a B:Music venue on Saturday 13 July 2024 at 7.30pm.
