Toonz Media & Zoonicorn to Debut Brand Worldwide

Toonz Media Group and Zoonicorn have closed multiple deals for their upcoming preschool brand Zoonicorn, set to launch in August, it is announced.

The series follows zebra-unicorn creatures who inhabit the dreams of young animals, taking them on adventures to learn social-emotional skills. It has been picked up by Peacock (U.S.), Kidoodle (U.S.), Astro (Malaysia), Truecorp (Thailand), La Teletuya (Venezuela) and Viu (Hong Kong).

In addition, Toonz has granted L&M representation to bRAND-WARD Services for the U.K. and Ireland; Team Entertainment for Italy; Dynamic Brand for Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Bolivia and Peru; and Empire Multimedia for Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Emmy Award winner Mark Zaslove (Winnie the PoohLazytownBob the Builder) serves as showrunner and lead writer/editor of the series. The Zoonicorn creative team also includes Stephen Senders (Inspector GadgetCloudy with a Chance of MeatballsMax & Ruby), Annie Girard (Donald Duck’s Three CaballerosClub Penguin) and the Emmy Award-winning team of Dennis Haley and Marcy Brown (KongKing of the Apes, Lego FriendsDinosaur Train). Music for the show is composed by Emmy Award-winning composer Rich Dickerson.

“Toonz has now finalized the last footprint into the 360-degree monetization of Zoonicorn with media distribution and licensing and merchandising representation deals with well-established partners such as Jean Philippe Randisi for bRAND-WARD and Maria Romanelli for Team Entertainment,” said Bruno Zarka, president of the distribution and feature films division at Toonz Media Group. “With our North American partner All Art Licensing, headed by J’net Smith, we also attended Licensing Expo at Las Vegas this year, from where we got tremendous response.”
