Sony Pictures Entertainment Returns to Licensing Expo!

Sony Pictures Consumer Products (SPCP) has announced it returns next week to Licensing Expo in 2025 to exhibit its robust slate of properties, which combines highly awaited content and programming and new additions to some of the world’s most iconic franchises. Amongst the diverse portfolio are timeless classics Jumanji, Ghostbusters, and Karate Kid, and contemporary fan favorites including The Boys, Gen V, The Last of Us, and Outlander. SPCP will also celebrate the release of new original content which includes GOAT, Messi and the Giants, Motel Transylvania, and Outlander: Blood of my Blood.

In 2025, SPCP continues to offer unique content and authentic meaningful collaborations for all fans to enjoy:  

From Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Motion Picture Group, SPCPwill celebrate the upcoming theatrical release of Sony Pictures Animations’ GOAT, an original animated sports comedy from producer Stephen Curry, is hitting theatres on February 13, 2026. Initial consumer product licensees include Jada Toys for global master toys, Penguin Workshop, an imprint of Penguin Random House, for publishing, and SNAP Creative for theatrical concessions.

This summer will see an action-packed cinematic adventure that blends thrilling martial arts with an inspiring underdog story, in Karate Kid: Legends, releasing theatricallyon May 30, 2025as well as the newest installment of the I Know What You Did Last Summer franchise on July 18, 2025. Jumanji 3 will also celebrate its theatrical release on December 11, 2026.

Sony Pictures is also building its beloved properties into growing franchises. As previously announced, Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation are developing an animated series based on the beloved Ghostbusters IP, which will debut exclusively on Netflix. Additionally, Netflix has announced a series spinoff of Hotel Transylvania entitled Motel Transylvania.

From Sony Pictures Television, offering something for everyone, SPCP is celebrating new adult-centric programming. Expanding upon the universe of The Boys, fans await the highly anticipated return of the fifth and final season of the series and the second season of its spinoff, Gen V. Additionally, Outlander will celebrate the upcoming eighth and final season plus a new prequel series, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, premieres on Starz on August 8th. And the second season of Peacock Original series Twisted Metal, the post-apocalyptic action comedy series, premieres on July 31st.

Additionally, Messi and the Giants is a sci-fi animated show inspired by worldwide football sensation Lionel Messi from Sony Music Vision and Sony Pictures Television – Kids (SPT – Kids). The animated series, which unfolds in an epic saga where a young boy named Leo is transported from his home in Argentina into a fantastical alternate universe, will premiere on Disney Channel, followed by Disney Channel On Demand and globally on Disney+.

Earlier this spring, SPCP unveiled the licensing program for season 2 of the HBO Original hit series, The Last of Us. The comprehensive collection captures key themes from the captivating storyline and incorporates unique products and collaborations that replicate in-world elements, such as cordyceps from alice mushrooms and Four Sigmatic, merchandise worn by series favorites from Wrangler, and forthcoming product from Taylor Guitars and Timberland. The licensed products offer fans an unmatched opportunity to immerse themselves in the harrowing series alongside iconic brands with direct ties to the show.
