HISTORY launches branded travel experiences

A+E Networks® has announced it haspartnered with educational travel provider Academic Travel Abroad (ATA)™ in a multi-year agreement to launch HISTORY Travel™, a curated experience that bears The HISTORY® Channel brand and embodies its sensibilities. The program launch was announced today by Lance Still, senior vice president, Consumer Enterprises, A+E Networks.

HISTORY Travel™ is a series of domestic and international destinations and itineraries inspired by the most fascinating events and people in history. Each tour is designed and led by HISTORY® Channel-approved, world-renowned historians and local experts to uncover new ways for travelers to experience historical places and bring context to the events and cultures that have shaped the present day.

“We’re all looking for more meaningful experiences, and HISTORY Travel will enable adventurers to connect more deeply to people and places,” said Still. “Providing expert historical context to these curated destinations is a new way to engage our core audiences, and also expand the brand to curious history-buffs seeking a trusted source to help them make the most of their travel experience and connect to the larger historical picture.”

“As a company formed in the aftermath of World War II, we are delighted to work with such an iconic brand to bring history to life through one-of-a-kind travel experiences,” notes Kate Simpson, President of Academic Travel Abroad.

Beginning in November 2022, the first trip touches down in the Jazz-fueled city of New Orleans. Trips to follow include Gettysburg & Antietam, Yellowstone National Park, Pearl Harbor, England, France, Greece, and Italy. The sites and itineraries are designed for history enthusiasts curious to explore the stories of the most oft-traveled destinations and the perspectives of the people that made those locations notable; walk in the footsteps of Winston Churchill’s England or revel in the legacy of jazz legends like Louis Armstrong in New Orleans—all under the guidance of expert historians.

HISTORY Travel™ was created and is managed by Academic Travel Abroad™ for The HISTORY® Channel.
