Fillip bets on licensing in Latin America with the acquisition of Tycoon Enterprises

Fillip, a holding company focused on scaling and revitalizing iconic and disruptive properties in the sports and entertainment industries, has announced that it completed the acquisition of Tycoon Enterprises, the leading brand licensing agency in Latin America, at the end of 2024.
This acquisition marks a decisive step in building a robust ecosystem of properties across the region. With over three decades of experience, Tycoon has managed some of the most relevant brand portfolios in corporate, lifestyle, entertainment, and sports licensing in Latin America, becoming the trusted partner of global licensors, retailers, and licensees.
“This transaction allows us to look ahead with a shared vision: transforming brand potential into tangible, sustainable, and culturally relevant outcomes for the region,” said Arturo Czonstkowsky, CEO of Tycoon Enterprises. “By joining the Fillip ecosystem, we strengthen our execution capabilities and prepare for an unprecedented phase of regional growth.”
Tycoon operates directly in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama, Ecuador, and Peru. It currently manages a portfolio of high-impact licensors that includes brands such as Sanrio, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid CF, Discovery Warner Bros, Amazon, MGM Studios, Sony Pictures, NBC Universal, and Paramount. Throughout its history, Tycoon has also represented some of the world’s most iconic brands, including the NFL, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and 20th Century Fox. Its deep expertise, combined with a well-established regional network, positions Tycoon as a strategic partner for brands looking to expand across Latin America with cultural relevance and meaningful impact.
Fillip, on the other hand, is building a one-of-a-kind platform that combines investment and operational expertise to maximize the commercial value of globally scalable properties. Its portfolio includes assets such as Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide and Kings League, and it has recently launched a joint venture with Box to Box to develop and produce premium storytelling content in Latin America.
“With Tycoon, we’re not only adding licensing expertise—we’re integrating a proven operation that enables us to execute faster and at a greater scale across the region,” said Bárbara González Briseño, Co-CEO of Fillip. “In Tycoon, we’ve found the combination of an exceptional team and a profound understanding of the region’s potential. Together, we are going to transform how brands expand, connect with consumers, and generate sustained value.”
Through this acquisition, Fillip gains a unique capacity to deploy large-scale licensing strategies, combining Tycoon’s regional expertise with Fillip’s proprietary methodologies in market analysis, brand positioning, and monetization.
