Dion Vlachos, SVP of Consumer Products, North America for BBC Studios

BBC Studios appoints media and licensing industry leader, Dion Vlachos, as SVP of Consumer Products, North America. In this role, he will be responsible for driving new opportunities and maximizing growth for BBC Studios’ diverse portfolio of brands including Bluey, Doctor Who, and new businesses in the U.S. and Canada.  Dion will report to Suzy Raia, who leads the Global Consumer Products team, and will be based in Los Angeles.

BBC Studios Brands and Licensing extends audiences enjoyment of their favorite programs and brands through innovative partnerships and licensing of IP including Bluey, Doctor Who, Top Gear, Dancing with the Stars and BBC Studios’ factual umbrella brand BBC Earth, the home of internet-breaking documentary series such as Blue Planet II, Frozen Planet II and Planet Earth III. 

Dion most recently served as EVP of Consumer Products & Experiences for Paramount Global, building merchandise programs across categories for the full portfolio of Nickelodeon and Paramount’s franchises including Paw Patrol, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, SpongeBob SquarePants and Yellowstone. Prior to joining Paramount, Dion enjoyed a 22-year career at The Walt Disney Company where he developed brand strategies for blockbuster film franchises like The Lion King, Toy Story, Cars and Finding Nemo and major book franchises like Percy Jackson & the Olympians.

Dion joins at a key moment as the team is building on the momentum of Bluey hitting No.1 most-watched series on streaming in the U.S.* and a feature film set for a global theatrical release in 2027 under the Disney banner. BBC Studios and The Walt Disney Company announced the film in late 2024, with Disney acquiring the global theatrical rights. Following the global theatrical release, the film will stream on Disney+.
