A new Art Collection inspired by Van Gogh’s Artwork and life story

A BATHING APE®︎ has teamed up with the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam to launch an exclusive collection, inspired by the life story and works of Vincent van Gogh.

Since its inception in 1993, BAPE®︎ has consistently pioneered innovative designs and FEARLESS EXPRESSION, earning global recognition and admiration. The brand’s enduring popularity is a testament to its widespread influence. Similarly, the Van Gogh Museum continues to convey the timeless appeal of Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890), bridging the past with the present. Van Gogh’s groundbreaking artistic vision and spirit to continuously reinvent himself motivated the creation of a special BAPE®︎ collection, celebrating his unwavering passion for painting.

The collection draws from Van Gogh’s masterpieces, including Self-Portrait with Grey Felt Hat (1887), Flowering Plum Orchard (1887), The Yellow House (1888), Sunflowers (1889), Almond Blossom (1890), and Wheatfield with Crows (1890). Each of these artworks mark turning points in Van Gogh’s life. The collection also incorporates excerpts from his beautifully written letters to his brother Theo, Vincent’s oldest and most important friend.

Featured lineup include T-shirts, long-sleeve shirts, crewneck sweatshirts and SHARK FULL ZIP HOODIES. The designs also integrate excerpts from Van Gogh’s heartfelt letters to his brother Theo, who was his steadfast supporter throughout his life.

The quote from one such letter, “We must still continue and try to do better,” perfectly encapsulates BAPE®︎’s 32-year-long commitment to continually challenging itself.

Also featured is a unique camouflage pattern, “OIL PAINTING CAMO,” inspired by the color schemes of Sunflowers and Almond Blossom.

The collection features three types of T-shirts, each showcasing BAPE®︎’s iconic APE HEAD as a canvas, seamlessly merging with Van Gogh’s masterpieces. Six works, chosen in chronological order, were designed to represent key moments in Van Gogh’s life. A beautiful passage from a letter Van Gogh wrote to his brother Theo is printed on the back. Each T-shirt comes in a special box inspired by a poster case and is available in a single color: white.

The COLLEGE TEE features a unique college logo that combines “VAN GOGH” and “BAPE®” in katakana. The design incorporates Sunflowers, Almond Blossom, and the OIL PAINTING CAMO pattern. The back of the tee displays one of Van Gogh’s letters. Available in black and white.

The BABY MILO® TEE features the cute BABY MILO®︎ character with a graphic of Sunflowers in Milo’s style. Available in black and white.

The long-sleeve T-shirt is adorned with brushstroke designs on the front, with Sunflowers and Almond Blossom printed on the back. Available in black and white.

The crewneck sweatshirt adopts the same college logo as the COLLEGE TEE, with Van Gogh’s letter printed on the back. Available in black and white.

The iconic BAPE®︎ SHARK FULL ZIP HOODIE comes in two versions inspired by Sunflowers and Almond Blossom. The right side of each hoodie features a Van Gogh painting, while the left side features OIL PAINTING CAMO. Available in yellow and sax.

All items are marked with special logos and name tags, highlighting the unique collaboration between BAPE®︎ and the Van Gogh Museum.
