The National Galleries of Scotland extends agreement with LOGIC, Japan.

Based in Tokyo, LOGIC designs and sells high quality apparel and accessories throughout Japan, China and Taiwan in stores such as United Arrows, Beams and Urban Research.  In the past, Logic has worked with many outstanding museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the National Gallery in London, and began working with the National Gallery of Scotland in 2023. LOGIC has developed ranges using the collection of Henri Matisse, Piet Mondrian and Wassily Kandinsky held at the National Galleries of Scotland.  Now in a further extension of its licensing agreement Logic has announced it is developing ranges based on the work of Francis Caddell, who was inspired by the work of the Impressionists and the Scottish Colourists to create light-filled paintings of Edinburgh and Iona.

Hiroya Hayashi, Design Director of LOGIC, says ‘We know the Japanese market well and the National Galleries of Scotland has some very nice paintings that work well for our design teams and sell well in Japanese and Asian outlets. We started with the work of Matisse and we are delighted now to be exploring the collections further”.

Shona Corner, Licensing Manager of the National Galleries of Scotland says ‘It has been a pleasure to work with LOGIC, Japan, with their high product quality, attention to detail and excellent design.  We are looking forward to working on the new ranges and exploring our collections with them further’.
