Rainbow’s Winx Club The Magic is Back set for Premiere

Rainbow, the independent Italian entertainment group led by Iginio Straffi, has announced that Winx Club The Magic is Back (26 x 24’), the hugely popular evergreen animated series following the adventures of a group of fairy friends, will make its UK debut on CBBC and iPlayer in September 2025. The series will also launch globally (not including the UK) on Netflix in October.

After celebrating its 20th anniversary last year, this iconic global phenomenon is set for an exciting new era of enchantment with a thrilling CGI animated reboot that brings the magical dimension to life like never before.

A modern fantasy saga set in a vibrant world of magic, friendship and courage, Winx Club The Magic is Back follows the awesome adventures of Bloom, a teenage girl from Earth who discovers that she is a fairy with extraordinary powers. The new version is a coming-of-age story in which Bloom and her fairy friends discover how to become more powerful as they transform into super-heroines in order to save the magic dimension from the dark forces who want to control it.

Its inspirational girl-empowerment storylines promoting friendship and self-discovery, coupled with strong, brave and relatable characters and an engaging blend of comedy and music, have endeared Winx Club to generations of young girls, and now look set to cast a spell on new – and returning – fans. Early social media trailers and clips have already attracted a fantastic response including more than 12 million views on the Winx Club TikTok profile.

Among a number of sparkling special guests adding magical songs to the series is Virginia Bocelli, the daughter of globally renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli, who sings transformation song “Forever Winx”.

“I’m thrilled that the BBC is welcoming our fairies back with open arms,” said Iginio Straffi, creator of Winx Club. “We are truly grateful to the BBC for this wonderful opportunity to bring the magic of Winx Club to a new generation of viewers in the UK. This reboot is a heartfelt tribute to the fans who grew up with Bloom and her friends, and an invitation for today’s children to discover the rich storytelling and engaging characters that define the Winx universe. We’ve reimagined their world with even more heart, adventure, and friendship – because the world needs magic now more than ever. I can’t wait for UK audiences to experience the wonder, courage, and connection that the new Winx generation brings to life.”

Sarah Muller, Senior Head of Commissioning (7+), added: “A new generation are set to love “Winx Club The Magic is Back” when it premieres in the UK this September. Bringing great entertainment, the show highlights important values like diversity and inclusion with universal themes of friendship and courage.”

Launched in Italy back in 2004, Winx Club rapidly became a huge hit worldwide, gaining a massive global fanbase. Rainbow is gearing up for a fresh surge of interest in its timeless fairy saga with a range of exciting initiatives including a new website and TikTok profile, a dedicated podcast, a Roblox presence and a new online store. Additionally, Rainbow’s major new series Gormiti – The New Era, a high-octane mix of live action and exhilarating CGI effects, recently premiered in the UK on CBBC and iPlayer.
