Higgidy Teams with Guinness

In what could be the ultimate Pie and Pint combination, delicious everyday food brand Higgidy, has teamed up with the world’s leading stout, Guinness, to create a brand-new, 200g, Slow-Cooked Steak & Guinness pie.

Born from a shared passion for taste, real quality and time-honoured craft, the two brands make the perfect meat pie. Packed with top quality ingredients and delivering a burst of irresistible flavour, the new Higgidy pie is full of tender beef, complimented by the unmistakable taste of Guinness that adds a deliciously rich depth to the pie.

Launching in September, the Higgidy Slow-Cooked Steak & Guinness Pie features Red Tractor assured British beef in a Guinness, onion and herb gravy, baked in all-butter shortcrust pastry, topped with an all-butter puff pastry lid and a sprinkle of rosemary.

Paired with simple sides, the new Higgidy Slow-Cooked Steak & Guinness Pie, makes a quick and delicious meal.

Cooking with Guinness brings rich, deep flavours to the new Higgidy pie and helps to ensure every bite is tender, moist and delicious. Guinness pairs best with beef, infusing the meat and creating a truly satisfying dish, delivering mouthwatering taste with every mouthful.

“Guinness is an iconic Diageo brand and we are so pleased to be partnering with them on creating a successful Pie that will bring further growth to the Pie category” says the Higgidy Team

Declan Hassett, Senior Licensing manager at Guinness added: “A Steak and Guinness pie just makes sense. Higgidy is passionate about pies and have created a great Steak & Guinness pie that I believe both pie lovers & Guinness lovers will enjoy – and as a combination, the Higgidy pie and a pint of Guinness is absolutely fantastic.”

To mark the launch of the new Higgidy Slow-Cooked Steak & Guinness Pie and appealing to both new and existing Guinness consumers, the new pie will be promoted across a national poster campaign, through instore trade media, an Experiential PR event and across Digital with Instagram and Facebook socials. A launch media and buyer event will also take place at Diageo’s head office in September.
