Spacetoon Launches Spacetoon Türkiye

Building on its remarkable success and popularity over the past 25 years, Spacetoon Group has recently announced its expansion into the Turkish market. Leveraging a powerful and effective ecosystem that fosters collaboration and mutual support, the Group is launching Spacetoon Türkiye, a free-to-air channel, alongside its popular streaming platform, Spacetoon Go. This strategic move is supported by the establishment of a dedicated Licensing & Merchandising (L&M) department in the region.

Spacetoon Türkiye features a diverse lineup of high-quality content from various genres, all fully dubbed in Turkish. The channel is designed to nurture children’s imaginations and creativity, with a modern and innovative brand identity.

Inspired by a space theme, Spacetoon Türkiye is divided into nine unique “planets,” each representing a distinct genre and featuring a curated selection of programs for different age groups, from preschoolers to young adults.

The channel’s extensive programming schedule includes beloved titles such as The Smurfs, Bluey, The Adventures of Paddington, Kid Lucky, Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City, 44 Cats, alongside top-rated anime titles like Naruto, Doraemon, Bey Blade X, Cocotama, Inazuma Eleven, and many more.

Viewers across Türkiye can access Spacetoon Türkiye on Türksat 4A at a frequency of 12379, as well as through Digiturk, Dsmart, Tivibu, TV+, S Sport+, KabloTV.

Fayez Al-Sabbagh, CEO of Spacetoon Group, commented on this significant milestone. “The launch of Spacetoon Türkiye marks a significant step in our expansion strategy within the Turkish market.”

He added: “Our primary focus remains on our audience – children and families. We aim to deliver an unparalleled viewing experience through captivating programming, creative songs, and engaging TV fillers. Our mission is to grow together, inspiring, educating, and entertaining our audience.”

Spacetoon Türkiye is spearheaded by Kemal Coşkuner, former General Manager of Disney Channel Türkiye, who brings over 25 years of experience in the media, broadcasting, and entertainment sectors. His extensive background includes leadership roles at Disney, FOX, CNN, and Kanal D, positioning him perfectly to drive Spacetoon’s vision in this dynamic market.

Expanding beyond linear TV, audiences in Türkiye will have access to Spacetoon Go Türkiye, an online streaming platform. Offering on-demand access to the TV channel’s full programming lineup in addition to exclusive Turkish-dubbed content, Spacetoon Go Türkiye provides users with ultimate flexibility and entertainment options.

Furthermore, Spacetoon Türkiye will serve as the foundation for the company’s expansion into the Turkish licensing market. Spacetoon has secured licenses for popular IPs including Naruto, BeybladeX, Cocotama, and Inazuma, with a growing portfolio. Leading this division is Gül Disma, Head of Licensing & Toys. A seasoned industry veteran with a proven track record of driving product growth, Disma has over 20 years of experience working with leading international companies such as Hasbro and Disney.

This division will bring a wave of exciting new products and toy ranges to toy store shelves this year, bringing joy to millions of children across the country.

Kamel Weiss, International Business Development Director of Spacetoon Group, stated, “Expanding into Türkiye is a key step in Spacetoon’s global journey. With Spacetoon Türkiye, we’re bringing a trusted brand and a model that blends content, L&M, events, and toys. I’m especially happy to be working alongside Kemal and Gul – two experienced leaders who share our vision – as we grow our presence and explore new markets.

Spacetoon, now operating five offices across multiple regions – including Istanbul – has recently expanded its business portfolio, securing partnerships with global and regional leaders in entertainment, media, education, and production, with plans to expand into new markets in the next few years.
