Magic Light Pictures Announces Raft of News for its Brands

Oscar-nominated family entertainment creator Magic Light Pictures has announced it is shaking off the winter gloom with a host of new product launches, promotions and activations, which will take its family of brands into the Spring/Summer season.
Leading the way is supermarket giant Sainsbury’s, which has extended its DTR for a further three years. They will highlight their fun Gruffalo and Friends apparel collection with aisle-end POS at over 400 stores, supported by costume character visits in selected stores in the first week of March. Staying with the grocers, launches for Spring/Summer 25 include a new clothing range at Tesco and a nightwear and footwear range at Asda.
Meanwhile, the UK’s No 1 handwash brand Carex will be adding two new products to complement its deliciously-scented forest fruits Gruffalo handwash as a Fiery Fresh Zog handwash and a Room on the Broom Magic Potion handwash get ready to clean up in grocers and pharmacies.
Jojo Maman Bébé will be celebrating Easter by adding to its adorable The Gruffalo collection, with a range of wooden toys joining the plush toys and puzzles already on offer. At leading health and beauty retailer Boots, a new range of The Gruffalo babywear, bathwear and bedding from Character World will be keeping the nation’s very smallest Gruffalo fans cosy and warm.
Finally, those wishing to venture into the great outdoors will have the chance to join a new forest adventure as the much-loved character Stick Man returns to Forestry England sites this year. Throughout 2025, 26 forests will host specially designed Stick Man activity trails, where families can follow the beloved character on his journey back to the family tree.
Aidan Taylor-Gooby, Licensing Director, Magic Light Pictures said: “Spring into Summer is an important time for us with lots of family-friendly celebrations and activity. We’re delighted to grow our partnerships with major retailers, licensees and category-leaders as we continue to find new touchpoints for fans and their families to engage with their favourite characters.”
Written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler, The Gruffalo books – and their related products – continue to entertain and delight children across the globe. Magic Light also has huge success with their film adaptations of the best-selling picture books from Julia and Axel.
