Formula 1 Enters into Partnership with Puma
Formula 1 has announced a long-term partnership with Puma to become the exclusive
merchandise retail partner from the start of the 2019 season. This year, PUMA stands and
superstores will be present in 17 out of the 21 Grands Prix in the calendar.
Adding to the company’s impressive motorsport credentials, Puma has gained the rights to
design, produce and sell Formula 1-branded products trackside. Visitors to Formula all 1 races across the globe will be able to purchase F1 and Grand Prix related products as well as all 10 teams’ merchandise from on-site Puma stands and superstores during race weekends. Puma and Branded will also retail official merchandise and accessories from Formula 1’s growing portolio of consumer products licensees, such as Codemasters and BAPE.
Blue Print and the GCA Sign Partnership for 2020
The Greeting Card Association (GCA) and Blue Print have announced a new partnership between Noted: The Greeting Card Expo and Blue Print, beginning in May 2020.
Noted is debuting in 2019 in Brooklyn as the first-of-its-kind event with the goal of bringing together the greeting card community and giving attendees a chance to connect with one another, discover new projects and celebrate the diversity of the industry.
Blue Print, the surface design show, began in May 2015 and will now see 140 exhibitors at this year’s show.
12th Edition of Bologna Licensing Trade Fair Saw Growth and Success
The 12th edition of the Bologna Licensing Trade Fair took place last week, and confirmed a 20 per cent growth of visitor numbers compared to 2018. Over 4,000 visitors attended the show and the pavilions doubled  for a total of 3,000 square meters of exhibition space.
BLTF ran concurrently to the Bologna Children's Book Fair which closed the 2019 edition with 28946 total admissions, a growth of 5 per cent compared to 2018, and an increase of foreign operators of 20% on 2018.
British Museum Shortlisted for Two LIMA awards
The British Museum, one of the UK’s most popular visitor attractions, has received two nominations in the 2019 LIMA licensing awards. It has been shortlisted in the Best Art/Design, Celebrity Fashion Brand category as well as the Best Experiential or Location-Based Initiative category.
For the brand nomination the British Museum has focused on its success in China, where it launched its licensing campaign in 2016. Managed by Alfilo Brands, an exclusive master licensee and retailer of the Museum in China, the licensing programme has rolled out 500+ SKU of licensed products, over a dozen promotional licensing programmes with some of the world’s top consumer brands, one online British Museum flagship store and two bricks and mortar British Museum stores, supported by innovative marketing programmes in China and London.

LIMA Licensing Essentials Course 2019

LIMA will host its annual UK Licensing Essentials Course on 23rd May at 54 Buckingham Gate in London. Among the hot topics to be covered during this full day of education and networking are “How licensors and licensees respond to retail environments” and “How Children Interact with Licensed Brands.” Packed with content for everyone from industry newcomers to accomplished veterans, the day will feature seminars on best practices, basic licensing know-how, new opportunities and current industry trends.

Kelvyn Gardner, Managing Director of LIMA UK, will kick off the day with an Introduction to Licensing session.  Licensing Essentials speakers include:

9 Story Announces Multiple Sales for Luo Bao Bei
9 Story Distribution International has secured multiple sales for the animated series Luo Bao Bei. New licenses include France Télévisions (France and French-speaking territories), Canal Panda (Spain and Portugal), CLAN (Spain), SVT (Sweden), True Visions (Thailand) and HOP! (Israel). In addition, 9 Story has secured a global distribution agreement with Netflix for a second window. The series launched last month on CCTV in China.
LUO BAO BEI was previously licensed to Milkshake! (UK), ABC Australia and E Junior (UAE). The series was recently nominated for an International Emmy Kids Award.
Aurora and John Lewis in Month-Long Moomin Celebration
Caroline Mickler Ltd, which builds the UK licensing programme for Moomin, has announced that Moomin plush licensee Aurora World has secured a ‘hot spot’ area in the flagship John Lewis store in London’s Oxford Street for a major Moomin-focused event that will run for the entire month of April.
This month-long celebration of Moomin will coincide with the marketing – and launch – of the eagerly anticipated new animated series Moominvalley, which will use state-of-the-art 3D CGI to introduce Moomin to a new generation in a way never seen before. The series includes Rosamund Pike, Matt Berry, Taron Egerton and Akiya Henry in the  leading roles alongside an extraordinary supporting cast featuring Kate Winslet, Warwick Davis, Will Self, Richard  Ayoade, Jennifer Saunders and Alison Steadman.
Moominvalley arrives on Sky One and Sky Kids at Easter, when the store event will be in full swing. The show is expected to further expand the fanbase of the brand, bringing the Moomins and their friends to a whole new  generation of young fans.
Moomin-themed products are familiar to many visitors to John Lewis, but for this celebration a large in-store Moomin  area has been specially designed in the toy area.
Cottonwood Media Announces Season Three Find Me In Paris
Cottonwood Media, a division of Federation Entertainment, has kicked off production on Season Three of the acclaimed live-action series Find Me In Paris, with principal photography scheduled for July 22nd, the new season will include a further 26 half hours, bringing the premium tween series to a total number of 78 episodes.
Season Three will welcome two new rising stars:  British actors Isabelle Allen, who features in the recent Netflix series Safe and played little ‘Cosette’ in hit film Les Misérables and Jake Swift who starred inMolly Moon and the Incredible Book of Hypnotism (alongside Joan Collins, Emily Watson, Celia Imrie), and the TV mini-series New Worlds. 
Filmed in Paris and at the iconic Garnier Opera House, the new season will also travel to new locations including the French Riviera (where the students participate in a prestigious international dance workshop) and Brussels.
Cyber Group and YoBoHo Join Forces
Cyber Group Studios and major kids’ content producer and digital media company YoBoHo, have joined forces to coproduce and distribute key original content, aimed at toddlers and preschoolers, across digital and traditional media outlets.
Under the term of the agreement, YoBoHo and Cyber Group Studios will coproduce direct to digital content. YoBoHo will manage the online distribution of these programs worldwide, while Cyber Group Studios will adapt and coproduce the digital formats for television, including “Captain FunTime” YoBoHo’s upcoming digital 3D animated galactic comedy. This hilarious 52x5 minutes series follows the adventure of four best friends and their favorite super-powered pal named “Captain FunTime”. The program along with other series will be distributed worldwide by Cyber Group Studios.
This new partnership will also see YoBoHo provide content management services for Cyber Group Studios’ vast content catalog. YoBoHo brings a wealth of expertise to the partnership and with more than 1.5 billion monthly views, 90 owned and operated channels, and a library of 15,000 children’s videos, YoBoHo is among the worldwide top educational networks on YouTube for kids from pre-school through high school.
Sesame Workshop Characters take over Suburbia Retail Stores in Mexico to Celebrate 50th Anniversary

La Panadería, the licensing agent representing Sésamo in Mexico, announced its DTR strategy to continue Sesame Workshop 50th anniversary celebrations this 2019. This campaign consists of the exhibition and point of sale in 126 Suburbia retail stores with different products with Sésamo characters for babies, kids, and adults; as well as a special exhibition of Sésamo designed furniture and its 50th anniversary.
The campaign was rolled out in 126 Suburbia stores throughout Mexico and started on February 14th with Suburbia’s BBfest.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Vrains Announces New Platforms

Yu-Gi-Oh! Vrains – the new chapter in the popular anime franchise – is off to a fast start on several TV platforms, including 9Go! in Australia, K2 in Italy, and Teletoon in Canada, just as production officially begins on Season 2 of the series. The announcement was made today by Kristen Gray, General Manager and SVP Konami Cross Media NY, which manages the Yu-Gi-Oh! brand outside of Asia.
9Go! – the Australian free-to-air digital television multichannel, which was launched by Nine Network – has picked up “Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS” and will debut Season 1 of the series on April 6th. 9Go! is a youthful channel that offers a mix of comedy, reality and general entertainment movies, animation and drama aimed at viewers between the ages of 16 to 39 as well as kids.
K2, the Italian free-to-air channel owned by Discovery Networks Europe, was the first Broadcaster to air Season 1 of “Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS,” in June of 2018. 
In September of 2018, “Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS” Season 1 was launched in Canada by Teletoon, a Corus Entertainment Inc. network, which primarily airs animation content.
Atlantyca Acquires Distributions Rights to Toy Cop

Atlantyca Entertainment has signed with Korean Animation Studio, OCON Studios, to acquire the European distribution rights to their popular pre-school action series, Toy Cop. Atlantyca will be introducing the series to broadcasters at the forthcoming MIPTV.
An original OCON animated production, Toy Cop originated as a successful toy property. The series is a pre-school action series featuring heroes Hammer, TP, Toto and Scien, four brave toys dedicated to maintaining the peace in the room of the 5-year-old Dori. When he leaves the room, the bad toys, led by the villain Hades, create havoc and a mess in the toy village requiring the wonderful Toy Cops to restore the much-needed order. Asian broadcast partners have included KBS in Korea and RTV in Indonesia.
Puck Hucky in Collab with Cartoon Network
Puck Hucky, the hockey apparel brand that brings gritty attitude to the game and to hockey streetwear, announces a new partnership with Cartoon Network Enterprises for Adult Swim’s animated television series, Mr. Pickles.  The Mr. Pickles x Puck Hucky apparel and hat collection is now available for purchase.
